The ranking
The 8 best OmeTV alternatives in 2026
OmeTV is free to talk on, but it steers you toward signing in and sells a VIP plan in its app. We ranked the alternatives on what people ask when they leave: do I need an account, is the gender filter free, does it work on my phone? If a site doesn't say, we write Not listed.
Open the page, allow your camera and you are matched in under two seconds. Video chat, matching and the gender filter are free; a few advanced filters carry a fee. Calls are end to end encrypted, never recorded, and every report is answered within 24 hours.
Joingy has no account and no paid features and runs on ads. It keeps separate text-only and video sections, and its interests box is marked coming soon. By default it sends a moderation frame from your camera every 30 seconds, and keeps chat logs with your IP address.
CamSurf lets you talk without logging in, which makes it the closest match to OmeTV's free side. Gender and location filters sit behind CamSurf Plus, an auto-renewing plan. There is an Android app; its site still lists the iPhone app as in development.
Chatspin starts without registration and is known for its masks. The gender filter is part of Chatspin Plus, priced on its own site: a 7.99 USD first-week trial that renews at 29.99 USD a month. The free tier has a daily limit; the country filter is free with an account.
Chatrandom has run since 2011 and adds local chat and chat rooms to random video. You can use it as a guest, but gender and location filters need Chatrandom Plus, and the price is shown only at checkout. Recent Google Play reviews complain about bans after paying.
Azar is the most app-like pick and was listed in the App Store on 26 September 2026. Every way in starts with a sign-in through Facebook, Google, Apple or a phone number. Gender and region filters are unlocked with gems, its in-app currency, and it adds live translation.
Monkey is built around quick calls and asks you to log in first. More gender filters come with Monkey Plus, a subscription whose discounted first period renews at the normal price. It is on Google Play and has a web version, but it is not in the App Store.
Emerald Chat's FAQ asks for an account with an email and password. Its karma score, a reputation rating, steers who you are matched with. The gender filter needs Gold, country and language filters need Platinum, and its terms say all sales are final.
How we ranked: what you need before the first call, then the cost of the gender filter, then platforms. Sources: each site's own terms, FAQs and store listings, late September 2026. Not listed means the site doesn't say.
What is OmeTV
What is OmeTV, and is it Omegle?
Since 2015, OmeTV has matched strangers on camera through its website, ome.tv, and an Android app. You choose a country, set your own gender and press Start. Its website calls itself an Omegle alternative, which is one reason people still search for it as Omegle TV.
It is not Omegle. OmeTV's own FAQ calls it an independent platform, not affiliated with Omegle, and the original Omegle closed for good in November 2023. Even the name is meant differently: OmeTV says it is pronounced Oh-me-TV.

Before you chat
What OmeTV asks for before you chat
OmeTV's FAQ has a question titled "Why do I need to sign in". Its answer: signing in adds features like profiles and friends, and your Facebook profile stays hidden. Its Android listing opens with "Sign up and create a profile". This is what its privacy policy lists.
Sign in to OmeTV
Listed in OmeTV's privacy policy
- Data from the Facebook, VK or Google account you sign in with
- A device ID: serial number, IMEI, MAC address or phone number
- For each video chat: gender, search country, chat messages and a picture
- Facebook data is also used to block users who break the rules
Start on Omegle Chat
Start Nothing to fill in- No email, phone number, username or profile
- No social login, so no account to link to your calls
- Calls are end to end encrypted and never recorded
To be fair to OmeTV, its privacy policy says the video stream is processed in real time and not stored, and that it keeps no record of who you talked to or when. The difference is around the call. A profile, followers and a linked social account suit a social network. For a quick conversation with a stranger, Omegle Chat asks for less: there is no account at all.
What it costs
What is free on OmeTV, and what the VIP Lounge sells
OmeTV's FAQ says video chat is free, with no cap on talk time or on the number of people you meet. What it sells is visibility: the Android app offers the VIP Lounge, a monthly subscription with a 7-day trial.
VIP LOUNGE
Monthly subscription, 7-day trial
- Text up to 30 new users daily
- Follow up to 30 users daily
- Be top-ranked in your country
- Stay on top in search results
- Find out who favorited you
Free on Omegle Chat
- Video chat and random matching, with no daily cap
- The gender filter, which many sites lock behind a plan
- Starting without a card, an account or an app
- Reporting someone, with an answer within 24 hours
A few advanced filters on Omegle Chat carry a fee. They are optional, and you never pay to be matched with someone.
Two more details are worth knowing before you pay for anything on OmeTV. Its refund policy says refunds are usually not given after a purchase and are issued only for duplicate payments. And OmeTV offers no gender filter at all: its FAQ says such features often don't meet user expectations, and setting your own gender only helps it match you with the opposite gender.
Bans
OmeTV bans: the rules, and how an appeal works
A ban is a common reason to look for an OmeTV alternative. OmeTV's moderators review complaints 24/7, and its rules say the system automatically bans users who receive multiple complaints in a short time. These are the rules people trip over most, summarised from OmeTV's own rules page:
OmeTV's rules, in short
- Your real, uncovered face must stay in the frame; masks, filters and virtual avatars are not allowed
- No pointing the camera at a TV, phone or any other screen, and no game streaming
- No links or ads, and no asking people to like or subscribe
- A detailed dress and camera-angle code applies to everyone
- A brief or accidental violation can still lead to a ban, and anything done on your device counts as yours
OmeTV asks banned users to email this address and to include the ban ID. Its contact page adds that many users think their ban was unfair just because they haven't read the chat rules. We found no paid unban option on ome.tv.
OmeTV's terms say access can be limited without notice, including IP blocks, and that OmeTV sets and may change how long a ban lasts.
What stays on file matters too. OmeTV's privacy policy says it keeps ban data for as long as the ban runs and deletes your picture when the ban expires, but keeps a record of the ban itself. For bans over text chat, it keeps the specific messages involved.
Omegle Chat moderates too: inappropriate content is cut off automatically and every report is answered within 24 hours. The difference is that there is no account or profile behind your calls.
Side by side
OmeTV vs Omegle Chat
Both are random one-to-one video chats in the Omegle tradition. These are the differences you notice in the first minute.
Switching
Moving from OmeTV to Omegle Chat
There is nothing to migrate, because there is nothing to set up. Open omeglechat.chat on the phone or laptop you used for OmeTV, allow your camera and tap Start. Matching takes under two seconds on average, with people from more than 100 countries, and the free gender filter is there if you want to narrow it down.
One thing works differently: there are no profiles, followers or friend lists. A conversation lasts as long as the call, and once you move on, nothing links you to it. If you used OmeTV to meet new people one on one, the format will feel familiar from the first match.

Common questions
OmeTV alternative questions, answered
What is the best OmeTV alternative?
For most people it is Omegle Chat: you start without an account, the gender filter is free and calls are end to end encrypted. If you want an app with profiles instead, Azar is the closest to OmeTV's app in our ranking, though it asks you to sign in first.
Is OmeTV free?
Video chat on OmeTV is free, with no limit on how long you talk or how many people you meet, according to its FAQ. Its Android app also sells the VIP Lounge, a monthly subscription with a 7-day trial that adds visibility features.
Can I use an OmeTV alternative without signing up?
Yes. Omegle Chat has no sign-up at any point: no email, phone number, username or profile. You open the page, allow your camera and tap Start, and you are matched in under two seconds on average.
Is OmeTV the same as Omegle?
No. OmeTV's FAQ calls it an independent platform, not affiliated with Omegle. OmeTV has run since 2015 and describes itself as an Omegle alternative; the original Omegle closed in November 2023.
Why was I banned on OmeTV?
OmeTV bans users who break its chat rules, and its system bans automatically after several complaints in a short time. Common causes are a hidden face, filters or masks, pointing the camera at a screen and sharing links. Appeals go to contact@ome.tv with your ban ID.
Does OmeTV have a gender filter?
No. Its FAQ says it doesn't offer gender-specific filters. You set your own gender, which helps it connect you with the opposite gender. On Omegle Chat the gender filter is free.
Is there an OmeTV app for iPhone?
OmeTV's website links to an App Store page, but on 6 October 2026 the app could not be found in the App Store. Its Android app is on Google Play. Omegle Chat needs no app: it runs in Safari or any other mobile browser.
Is Omegle Chat safe to use instead of OmeTV?
Calls run peer to peer, are end to end encrypted and are never recorded. Bots and fake profiles are screened out before matching, inappropriate content is cut off automatically, and every report is answered within 24 hours. Omegle Chat is for people aged 18+ only.
